Terms of Service
Changing edition is for reading only. Online consent depends on the installed edition and feature.
1. Provider and scope
This Terms of Service applies to the international mobile edition of Star Memoirs AI, provided and operated by Ganyue (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us” or “our”). Our registered address is Room 118, Building 20, Nos. 1–42, Lane 83, Hongxiang North Road, Lin-gang Special Area, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Shanghai, China. Contact contact@happysense.cn for service enquiries. Services you independently configure or purchase separately also have their own applicable terms.
Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer, privacy or other rights that apply where you live. Please review the provisions about AI reliability, third-party costs, data copies and disputes.
2. What the service does
The app saves text and audio materials, supports interviews and transcription review, organises memoirs, and provides editing, history, reading, export and optional cloud sync. Some online features need credentials or services you choose to configure.
Source and permission checks verify content provenance and version consistency; they do not verify your life story. Transcription, AI responses and public research can contain errors and should be reviewed.
3. Eligibility and credentials
You must have legal capacity to enter the agreement. Where permitted, minors need legally required guardian involvement. The service is not directed to children below 13 or a higher applicable age for independent use.
Local use does not require an app account. Protect model keys, cloud accounts and backend credentials, and use only accounts you are authorised to access. Revoke compromised credentials with the relevant provider.
4. Your content and permissions
You retain the rights you lawfully hold in your source records, recordings, photos and manuscripts. You grant only the permission needed to store, transmit, transcribe, organise and convert the content for functions you request. This does not authorise advertising use or public distribution of your private story.
You are responsible for having appropriate authority to record, upload and share others’ material. A full backup or HTML export may include complete original records. The app does not guarantee that AI output is unique, protectable by copyright or free of third-party rights.
Source records are separate from the memoir. Corrections, consolidation and manual editing follow your confirmed actions. Public research does not automatically change your records.
5. AI, voice and research limitations
AI and transcription are assistive features and may omit, misrecognise or invent information. Public sources support only the particular public facts they address; they do not establish your identity or private experiences. Results are not professional medical, legal or financial advice.
Review the materials, recipients, locations and costs before enabling online functions. Applicable sensitive-data permissions and transfer safeguards are addressed in the privacy notice and relevant feature disclosures.
A request accepted by a provider can incur charges even if its outcome is unknown. Retrying can add charges. The app preserves saved source material and received text, but cannot guarantee immediate mobile background execution or successful network requests.
6. Membership, trials and purchases
Annual membership provides the official AI interviews, voice interviews, audio transcription and memoir writing listed on the membership page for your region. Apple confirms and processes purchases. Actual price, currency, taxes, duration and available benefits are those shown on your regional store purchase confirmation and membership page. Paid public membership is not currently open.
Annual memberships and gift-code memberships in the international edition cover online services only. The complimentary printed memoir and home-delivery benefit is available only with annual membership in the China edition; it is not included in the international edition.
Store subscription offers and independent in-app trials are different. When a store free trial is offered, eligibility, duration, post-trial price and renewal rules are those on the store purchase confirmation: once subscribed, the displayed annual price is charged automatically after the trial unless cancelled in time. An independent in-app trial is available only when explicitly offered on its claim screen; it does not charge automatically and its duration is shown there. Paid membership is not currently open; trial eligibility or purchase availability is not promised. Local reading, editing, backup and export remain available after a trial ends.
Annual subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel through your Apple account subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Access continues for the paid period after cancellation. The system purchase confirmation shows the price, duration and renewal terms. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its applicable rules; refunded or revoked purchases lose their associated entitlements.
A valid gift code provides one year of membership, extending the current expiry if membership is active. Gift membership does not renew automatically. Resubmitting the same code does not extend access again; expired, disabled or exhausted codes cannot be used. Gift redemption does not cancel an existing Apple subscription, and entitlement periods may overlap. Check your membership before buying or redeeming.
Personally configured services such as OpenRouter charge separately under their own prices and terms; membership does not pay for your personal service accounts. Membership does not promise unlimited concurrency or computing resources and is subject to the capacity and reasonable-use rules shown for the service.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, engage in unlawful activity, fraud, attacks or unauthorised access, or evade limits and safeguards. Do not provide material you have no authority to process.
If an operator-provided online service needs to be restricted for a specific legal or security issue, restrictions should be proportionate, with reasons and a review route where lawful and safe. The app does not provide a public posting community and does not automatically remove private local records because they were not publicly moderated.
8. Keeping and leaving with your data
Locally stored material may be lost with uninstall, device damage or loss. System backup and app cloud sync have different scopes. Use export or optional sync and verify completion before relying on a backup.
Disabling a feature is not deletion of every copy. Local history, recovery versions, cloud files and exports must be managed separately. You may stop using the service at any time and request handling of operator-held information as described in the privacy notice.
9. App rights
Rights in app software, design and branding belong to the applicable owners, excluding your content, third-party materials and open-source components. You receive a non-exclusive licence to lawfully use the app on your devices. Statutory rights, permitted interoperability work and applicable open-source licences are preserved.
10. Changes, availability and responsibility
We use reasonable care to provide the described service and protect information. Maintenance, provider changes or network failures can affect online features. Material service changes or termination receive reasonable notice and data-export arrangements where required.
Responsibility for loss is determined under applicable law and the parties’ conduct. These terms do not exclude liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury where exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Mandatory consumer remedies and data-protection duties remain available.
11. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Contact contact@happysense.cn to try to resolve a concern. If unresolved, either party may bring proceedings before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Mandatory protections and any right to bring a claim in a court available under the law of your residence remain intact. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver.
12. Version and updates
Version: 1.1.1. Last updated: 2026-10-08. Effective date: 2026-10-08. Material updates receive appropriate notice and a new agreement where required. If you do not accept a change, you can stop the affected service and export your materials. Events before a change remain subject to the terms then in effect and mandatory law. Invalid provisions do not invalidate independently enforceable provisions.
Google Play annual membership
For the international Android edition, Google Play confirms and processes annual subscription purchases. Online benefits include AI interviews, live voice interviews, audio transcription, original-word organisation and confirmed correction, and memoir writing. Availability, annual price, currency, tax and any free trial are shown by Google Play. Membership is available only when the app and store indicate purchasing is open; international membership includes no printing or delivery.
An eligible new subscriber may receive a 3-day free trial when Google Play offers it. After the trial, the displayed annual price is charged automatically and the subscription renews each year unless cancelled before the trial or current period ends. Cancel or manage the subscription in Google Play. Access normally continues through the current entitlement period after cancellation. Refunds follow Google Play’s applicable process and law; refunded, revoked or expired purchases may lose membership access.
Android offers no independent in-app trial or gift-code redemption. Restore purchases with the Google account used to subscribe; the server must verify the purchase before granting membership. Restoration does not transfer memoir content. Existing saved material remains readable, editable and exportable after membership ends. Google Play rules in this section govern Android purchases where earlier sections refer specifically to Apple.
