1. Contracting parties and scope
These Terms of Service apply to the mainland China edition of Star Memoirs AI. Ganyue (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. ("we") operates the app. Our registered address is Room 118, Building 20, Nos. 1–42, Lane 83, Hongxiang North Road, Lin-gang Special Area, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Shanghai, China and contact email is contact@happysense.cn. Third-party services you independently configure or purchase are also subject to their providers' terms.
Read carefully the provisions on exclusions or limits of liability, personal information, third-party costs and disputes. These terms cannot exclude your statutory consumer rights; ambiguities are handled under applicable law.
2. Services and actual capabilities
The app saves text and audio materials and provides original-record review, interviews, memoir planning, manual editing, version history, reading, export and optional cloud sync. Some online features require you to configure relevant accounts, keys or services.
Originals are saved by entry time; memoirs are organised according to sources and permissions. Source checks verify extraction, permissions and version consistency, not whether personal experiences are true. Family-recording transcripts, AI replies and public research may contain errors; verify important content yourself.
3. Eligibility and protection of credentials
You must have appropriate civil legal capacity. Minors require guardian guidance. The app currently does not independently serve children under fourteen.
Local functions require no app registration. Lawfully obtain and protect credentials for personal models, cloud accounts and independent backends. Do not publish keys, bypass permissions or use accounts without authority. Revoke or replace leaked credentials promptly and contact the relevant service.
4. Your content and necessary permissions
Rights you lawfully hold in originals, recordings, photos, manuscripts and other uploaded content remain yours or the original rights holder's. You grant only permissions necessary to save, transmit, recognise, organise and convert formats for the functions you request, not permission for advertising use or public dissemination of your private experiences.
You must have the necessary rights and lawful authority to enter, upload and share content, particularly family recordings, other people's likenesses and sensitive material. You choose sharing and export destinations. Full backups and HTML exports may contain all originals; check before sharing.
Originals and memoir text are stored separately. Transcription corrections, consolidation of duplicates and manual edits follow actions you confirm. Public queries do not automatically correct originals. Whether model output is a copyright work or can be used exclusively depends on applicable law; the app does not guarantee unique output or acquisition of intellectual property rights.
5. AI, voice and public checks
AI output and transcription are assistive material and may omit, misrecognise, invent or offer inappropriate suggestions. Public sources support only the corresponding public facts and cannot prove your identity, private experiences or all historical details. Results are not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
You may turn off AI and continue local recording. Before enabling online features, check the material scope, recipients, regions and fees. For sensitive information or transfers abroad, obtain applicable consent through the privacy policy and separate feature disclosures.
Regenerating a request already accepted by a third party whose result is unconfirmed may create additional fees. The app retains existing originals and received text but does not guarantee immediate execution of every mobile background task or success of all network requests.
6. Membership, trials and purchase rules
Annual membership provides the official AI interviews, voice interviews, audio transcription and memoir writing listed on the membership page for your region. Apple confirms and processes purchases. Actual price, currency, taxes, duration and available benefits are those shown on your regional store purchase confirmation and membership page. Paid public membership is not currently open.
The complimentary printed-book benefit is limited to annual membership in the China edition: one printed memoir and home delivery per membership year, including annual gift-code membership; each extra copy costs CNY 20. Free trials cover online services only and exclude printing. Printing and delivery require your request; specifications, delivery area, timing and amount payable are confirmed separately before ordering.
Store subscription offers and independent in-app trials are different. When a store free trial is offered, eligibility, duration, post-trial price and renewal rules are those on the store purchase confirmation: once subscribed, the displayed annual price is charged automatically after the trial unless cancelled in time. An independent in-app trial is available only when explicitly offered on its claim screen; it does not charge automatically and its duration is shown there. Paid membership is not currently open; trial eligibility or purchase availability is not promised. Local reading, editing, backup and export remain available after a trial ends.
Annual subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel in Apple account subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Access continues for the paid period after cancellation. The system purchase confirmation determines displayed price, period and renewal rules. Request refunds from Apple under its rules; corresponding entitlements stop after a refund or revocation.
A valid gift code grants one year of membership, starting after the current expiry if you are already a member. Gift membership does not renew automatically. Resubmitting a code adds no further time; expired, disabled or exhausted codes cannot be used. Redemption does not cancel an existing Apple auto-renewing subscription and periods may overlap; check before purchase or redemption.
Personally configured OpenRouter and other third-party services bill separately under their prices and terms; membership does not pay for personal accounts. Membership promises neither unlimited concurrency nor computing resources and follows the capacities and reasonable-use rules on the service page.
7. Reasonable use
Do not use the service to violate others' privacy or intellectual property, disseminate unlawful content, commit fraud, malicious attacks or unauthorised access, or bypass limits and safeguards. Do not provide material you have no authority to process.
If a specific unlawful act or security incident requires limiting operator-provided online services, measures will be proportionate and, where lawful and safe, reasons and appeal channels will be given. The app has no public community submissions; private local records are not automatically deleted for lacking public content review.
8. Safekeeping, backups and leaving
Default local material may be unrecoverable after uninstall, damage or loss of the device. System backup and in-app cloud sync have different scopes. You may export backups or enable available cloud sync and verify that restoration and syncing have completed.
Turning off a service or disconnecting sync does not delete every copy. Manage local history, recovery versions, cloud files and exports separately. You may stop use at any time and lawfully request handling of information held by the operator. See the Privacy Policy for procedures and retention periods.
9. Intellectual property in the app
Except for your content, third-party material and open-source components, rights in the app's code, design and branding belong to their respective holders. You receive a non-exclusive licence to lawfully use the app on your devices. This clause does not improperly restrict research, interoperability work permitted by law or rights under open-source licences.
10. Service changes and responsibility
We use reasonable care to provide services matching the described capabilities and protect material and functions. Necessary maintenance, third-party changes and network faults may affect online features. Material changes or termination receive reasonable notice and data-export and follow-up arrangements as required by law.
Responsibility for losses follows applicable law and each party's fault. These terms do not exclude liability for property damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, personal injury, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Agreement does not waive statutory data-protection or consumer duties.
11. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of mainland China. You may first contact contact@happysense.cn to resolve a dispute; if discussions fail, bring proceedings before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. This clause does not deprive consumers of their statutory right to choose a competent court or other legal remedies.
12. Version and updates
Version 1.1.0, updated 2026-10-08, effective 2026-10-08. Material updates receive prominent notice; new consent is sought where required by law. If you disagree, you may stop the affected service and export your material. Earlier events follow the terms then in force and mandatory law. Invalid provisions do not invalidate other independently enforceable provisions.
